The Schwinn 430 offers eight computer-controlled resistance levels and eight workout programs for workout variety, including six user-profile programs, one manual, and one calorie goal program. Three feedback programs–recovery mode, results mode, and body mass index (BMI)–allow you to track the progress of your workout routine. About Elliptical Trainers

5 Stars Schwinn 430 Elliptical – Great Value
I bought the Schwinn 430 Elliptical a month ago from Amazon (the same time as a Schwinn 230 recumbent bike) and I am VERY happy with Amazon, with the shipping co. and with the Schwinn 430 Elliptical itself.
My experience:
1. Schwinn 430 Elliptical arrived at my house about ten days after ordering
2. Unpack and assembly took 90 minutes – do follow the instructions carefully – they are well written, but there are a couple of steps where you must read closely and match the screw/bolt/locking washers to the assembly instruction steps. The parts package is clearly labeled with sizes and assembly part #
3. I have now worked out on the Schwinn 430 Elliptical five times using different programs at Level 8 for 30 mins and my initial experience is: quiet, nice display, clear controls on the display and got my HR to 130 range which is almost where I want it. 135 HR is about right for me.
4. The build quality is just fine and the main area I see for possible failure is the touch-press control panel – if sub-par plastic membrane material is used it can lead to possible issues.
I recommend the Schwinn 430 Elliptical as a strong buy, with the caveat that you must follow the assembly steps patiently and diligently.
5 Stars I love this elliptical!
I could not be happier with this elliptical. The motion is smooth and quite, better than the models I have used at the gym. The unit feels sturdy and well built. I have rhuematoid arthritis and this machine gives me the low-impact smooth workout I need to stay fit. The unit is big enough to feel steady but still compact enough to fit in my bedroom. I am 5’2″ tall and the reach on this machine is fine for me, I feel quite comfortable with every aspect of the elliptical. Well worth the price.
5 Stars Good Machine for the Price
I purchased this recently and just got it. Its overwhelming at 1st all the parts and the pieces. I live in an upstairs condo and was really worried about getting it up the stairs but someone suggested taking it out of the box and carry it up in pieces. That was the best idea. We had to make a few more trips but it was so easy. Granted the main piece and biggest piece are still heavy but it was a great idea.
I am female and it took me about 2 1/2 hours to put it together. I esp had some trouble with one of the bolts on the Right Handle. Not sure what the deal was.
I felt the pieces (ie the bolts) could have been labeled a little differently. They weren’t labeled exactly how they were listed in the assembly manual. But I managed.
I too had trouble with the squeaking. But I got back online and reviewed the reviews and did what they said and loosened the bolds on the arms that are connected to the piece that goes through the mast and that seemed to take care of it. However I haven’t offically used it for longer than 15 mins yet so I have yet to test it out fully. But it seem to make the squeak within a min or two and its not doing it now.
I am amazed how quickly it gets your heartrate up. So I think this machine will provide a great cardio workout can’t wait to put it to the test. But so far very pleased.
I would recommend the mat for underneth it. It helps even for just moving the machine if need be.

5 Stars The Schwinn 430 Elliptical is great!
First off I want to say that the main factor in purchasing this elliptical over the plethora of others on the market was the overwhelmingly positive feedback it received here on Amazon. Therefore I feel it’s my responsibility to contribute my own $.02
Purchasing from Amazon
Amazon had the best price plus free shipping. I was really surprised by how quickly this item was shipped out. I received it in via freight delivery service in under a week. Please note that this freight service is only obligate to bring this to your door. I wasn’t home at the time of delivery but my gf gave the lone delivery a $10 for taking it up to my 2nd floor apt.
Assembly
It really wasn’t that difficult at all. You just have to have some patience. I started off by carefully taking all the equipment out of the box (wasn’t that easy) and laying it out. The assembly is really straightforward. I found the manual to be more than competent. Like other reviewers mentioned I used the white lithium grease to lube the moving parts. You will be able to easily identify these parts since they are already sent lubricated by the manufacturer. A few people on here gave the product terrible reviews because some of the pieces were wrong or broken. I didn’t have this problem.
Using the elliptical
This machine is really sturdy and well built. It runs very quietly and smoothly. Surprisingly the resistance works very well. After using it for 30 minutes I was totally exhausted! In case you’re curious I’m 5’9″ and 195 lbs. I feel that if I were over 6′ the stride may feel a bit too short but for me it’s fine.
Negatives
The only negatives I can come up with is the fact that LED screen does not have a backlight and the part where you put your feet on is made of plastic and doesn’t have rubber grips. The problem with that is my feet consistently come off the foot pad a bit which makes a little noise. As you can see from my review it’s a pretty minor complaint.
